Young learners are the heartbeat of what we do here at Bilingüitos. Due to the nature of brain development, the golden window of opportunity for language learning is in early childhood. A child’s brain is in language-learning mode and he is able to soak up linguistic information like a sponge. That’s certainly an opportunity that you don’t want to let pass by! Homeschooling families, you are at the forefront of our minds! Part of the beauty of homeschooling is being able to tailor your curriculum to suit your family’s needs. Language instruction is no exception! We want to make it easy for you to incorporate a second language (or perhaps the home language) into your family’s homeschool curriculum. Learn more here! >>
Children learn language from their peers. For this reason, we are set on creating opportunities for bilingual children to get together outside the home and outside the classroom to just be KIDS and interact with other kids who also speak two languages. By being free to just play and use language as it most naturally comes, children will see that Spanish isn’t something contained just to a class or home setting. That’s why we’ve created GrupoPLAY! Adult learners are different than children. Their brains have already determined what their native language is, and now see any new language through the lens of their first. In this way, language learning looks different than it does with our younger students. We take this into account when instructing our adult students, using English as our language of instruction and a bridge into the new language, Spanish. Then, we make sure our students get rich, authentic Spanish input and put their new language skills to practice. Learn more here! <<
